JOHNSON’S® Baby celebrates Pregnancy Awareness Week

Pregnancy Awareness Week, beginning from the 10th to the 16th of February 2019, is an enlightening initiative by the Department of Health to educate expectant mothers about their own health concerns, their rights and health and safety issues regarding the foetus to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

The week provides an opportunity for expecting mothers and fathers to discuss issues like nutrition, maternity leave, birthing plans and shopping lists with each other as well as take the time to connect with the little soul by talking and singing to the baby together.

Through observing Pregnancy Awareness Week, JOHNSON’S® Baby emphasizes the importance of preparing for the arrival of a newborn baby productively for both mothers and fathers, who play an equally important role in creating a nurturing environment for a baby to grow.

Following a fairly  positive response to the Baby Shower competition in 2018, JOHNSON’S® Baby decided to host an event to celebrate Pregnancy Awareness Week 2019. Hosted by Scandal actress Mapaseka (Pasi) Koetele, the event was held at the Gauge restaurant, owned by Pasi herself. Ten lucky mums, who won a Mommy Diaries invitation through the social media competition, were in attendance along with their partners.

Furthermore JOHNSON’S®® Baby has launched The JOHNSON’S® Baby Healthy Skin Project, in partnership with Unjani Clinics, aiming to provide accessible medical treatment and awareness to thousands of mothers and babies, with the purpose to  improve overall health through better skin health for babies. The JOHNSON’S® Baby Healthy Skin Project is well on its way to improving the lives of 3 million babies by 2020.
