dotsure.co.za and Badger Group Staff assist George disaster relief effort

The collapse of the multi-story construction site at Victoria Street in George, Eastern Cape has shocked South Africans across the country. As rescue efforts continue, the staff at dotsure.co.za and it’s holding company, the Badger Group, both located in George, rallied together to assist with coordinating efforts to provide some much-needed support to the families and people affected by this disaster.

Glen Anderson, Managing Executive, dotsure.co.za said “In the last 48 hours, our very own George community has been rocked by the unprecedented tragedy. We care deeply about the place we call home and the people who make it one.” The authorities on the situation communicate their needs and the items they require. “In true Badger spirit, our team rallied together to support the active rescue efforts. We donated blankets and pillows to help bring some form of comfort to those waiting for the safe return of their loved ones,” says Glen. “Our staff packed care packages filled with non-perishable goods, wet wipes, and necessities.  Subsequently, we received a request for protective equipment for the emergency responders actively working at the scene. Our team reacted quickly and sourced hard hats, headlamps, gloves, and burn shields.” Requests from the key stakeholders continue to pour in and the Badger team is dedicated to assisting wherever possible, sponsoring FAMSA counselling as well as donating airtime and data vouchers for the families impacted by this heart-breaking incident.

dotsure.co.za’s Soft Landings initiative encourages their staff to make a difference, encompassing the responsibility to do good, not only because we can, but because we should. dotsure.co.za remains on hand to lend its support to those involved in the rescue efforts and those impacted by this tragic event. “It’s in difficult times, that we are reminded how important it is for people to come together. This tragedy is in the heart of our community, and we are committed to continue supporting the people, families and emergency responders. No matter what it takes,” concludes Glen Anderson.
