World’s first Chery hybrid transmission officially off the production line

On the morning of May 18, Chery’s “world’s first” universal hybrid DHT (specific hybrid transmission) was slowly rolled out the production line under the precise and stable operation of the automation console, and officially rolled off the production line under the witness of on-site engineers. This hybrid transmission, which adopts the “most advanced technologies” of a number of Chinese and even global automobile brands, is a strategic product of Chery’s comprehensive power field in the electrification era, and will be officially launched on mass production models from the second half of this year.

Acceleration from 0km to 100km in 5 seconds and comprehensive fuel consumption of 1L

What will Chery’s “world first” DHT bring?

This is not the first time that Chery’s universal hybrid DHT has made its debut. At the Shanghai Auto Show in April, the DHT was shown together with other power solutions as one of the core components of the “Chery Power” in Chery’s universal 4.0 power architecture.

How many “advanced innovations” are adopted for the Chery universal hybrid DHT? First, it is currently “the first and only dual-motor-driven DHT from a Chinese brand”, which can achieve 9 high-efficiency working modes, including single/dual motor drive, range extension, parallel, direct engine drive, single/dual motor energy recovery, and charging when driving/parking, meeting the needs of users for full-scene travel, and realizing the autonomous control of key core technologies. Based on the configuration of dual motor drive, Chery hybrid DHT is equipped with 11 combined gears (ranking first in the world), and the optimal working gears are calculated by the control system in real time during operation. It adopts hybrid integration technologies such as Chery’s original FIO fixed-point injection oil-cooled motor technology, TEM super-efficiency dual-motor power distribution technology and super smooth TSD dual-shaft drive design, realizing optimal balance of driving power, ride comfort and economy.

A series of “high-light” data, from energy to efficiency and quality, can most intuitively show how Chery’s universal hybrid DHT will bring users’ travel experience: It has a transmission torque density of 35N•m/kg (the highest among Chinese brands) and input torque of 510N•m. Its efficiency is leading among global brands. The average efficiency of electric drive under NEDC condition is >90%, the highest transmission efficiency is >97.6%, and the fuel saving rate of low power mode is >50%. Its overall sound pressure level for pure electric mode is just 75 decibels, with design life 1.5 times of the standard one in the industry. The Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV is to be launched with this DHT, which is capable of accelerating from 0km to 100km in 5 seconds with comprehensive fuel consumption of 1L.

Chery’s current powertrain development system has covered such fields as the traditional engines, special hybrid engines, special hybrid transmissions and electric drive products, and Chery has mastered the core technologies in development of electric control system development and electric-drive core parts. Chery’s universal 4.0 power architecture includes various energy forms such as fuel, hybrid, pure electric and hydrogen power, basically covering the vehicle power technology trends for at least 30 years in the future. By 2030, Chery’s fuel and hybrid engines will achieve a maximum thermal efficiency of 45% and fuel economy of more than 95%.Starting from this year, PHEV and HEV based on the new hybrid technology will be fully applied to related models under the Chery brand.
