Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz has encouraged all its suppliers to be more climate neutral. Ola Kaellenius, CEO of Daimler, said, “This will become an award criterion”. He noted that several of Daimler’s partners are already working toward climate neutrality.

In 2022, Daimler factories are expected to be climate neutral. All Mercedes-Benz passenger cars will be transformed into “A carbon-neutral product range as of 2039.”

Farasis Energy has partnered with Mercedes-Benz to supply them sustainably produced battery cells. Markus Schaefer, Daimler AG’s board member responsible for Mercedes- Benz car development said, “We will save over 20 percent of the carbon footprint of future vehicle models’ entire battery”.

A carbon-neutral production site for sustainability is in works for Germany, China, and the United States of America.
