Zunaid Moti successfully donated 20 000 winter blankets over the last two months.

This past weekend, the Moti Cares Foundation proudly concluded its ambitious 20,000 Blanket Winter Drive by distributing its final 2,000 blankets to the Tsakane community.

Since the beginning of winter, the Moti Cares Foundation has been dedicated to providing warmth and comfort to those in need across various communities. This initiative, which aimed to distribute 20,000 blankets, has reached numerous underprivileged individuals and families, making a significant impact during the cold months.

Founder of Moti Cares, Zunaid Moti expressed his gratitude and pride in the success of the drive, “We are incredibly humbled by the support and generosity that has made this drive possible. Providing warmth during winter is not just about sharing comfort; it’s about showing care and compassion to our fellow human beings. The smiles and gratitude we’ve seen have reaffirmed our commitment to helping those in need.”

The 20,000 Blanket Winter Drive reached multiple regions including the tornado struck residents of Kwa-Zulu Natal, underprivileged white and black informal settlements in Langlaagte, Vrededorp, and Krugersdorp, to people in Soweto to Brakpan, and many more. Communities, charities, and organisations such as the SAPS Family Violence and Sexual Offences Unit, Fhulufhelu Project Hope, Kids Haven, Angel Wings Centre, and various others have been beneficiaries of these efforts.

To ensure the blankets reached those who needed them most, Moti opened the drive to South Africans via his social media pages, inviting them to nominate charities in need. This inclusive approach attracted many deserving organisations and individuals, ensuring a broad and impactful reach. The first handover of blankets started on 1 June, marking the beginning of winter, and a heartwarming journey.

Captain Terblanche from the SAPS Family Violence and Sexual Offences Unit shared her appreciation. “The Moti Cares Foundation’s contribution has been invaluable. These blankets have provided much-needed relief and comfort to vulnerable individuals and families. The impact of this drive goes beyond just another CSI initiative, it has brought hope and reassurance to our community.”

Looking forward, the Moti Cares Foundation reaffirm its dedication to empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and inspiring hope.
Moti concluded, “On behalf of the foundation, I extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported this drive, from donors to volunteers, and communities who welcomed us so wholeheartedly. We will continue our mission of social upliftment and community support, and to positively impact the lives of those in need wherever we can.”
