Local entertainment spot, Gold Reef City , in association with CANSA, will be hosting Shavathons from 09h00 to 17h00 on Friday, 6 March at the Gold Reef City Casino, main entrance and on Saturday, 7 March from 09h30 to 17h00 at Gold Reef City Theme Park, Town Square.
This year’s Shavathon theme is Hope 2020, participants will be giving ‘Hope’ to cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones, by showing solidarity in the fight against cancer as they stencil, spray or shave their hair. Adults need to donate R50 to this worthy cause, while children under 12 need to make a donation of R25 to get in on the Shavathon action.
CANSA provides a unique, integrated service to all people affected by cancer. This non-profit
organisation enables research on the lowering of cancer risk, educating the public regarding
symptoms, screening and risk reduction, and providing care and support to all people affected by
cancer. Its advocacy team performs a watchdog role to oversee South African policy makers and
influence important cancer control issues. They also strive to protect the patients’ right to
healthcare. Invite all your friends and family, let’s make a notable difference in 2020!
