Eaton donates always-on power equipment to healthcare partners

The COVID-19 crisis has placed extraordinary demands on our country’s healthcare system,
driving a critical need to expand capacity for testing and patient care.

During this time, when the ability of our healthcare system to respond to the crisis at hand
matters the most, Eaton has remained committed to ensuring always-on power for essential electrical systems and data services to healthcare facilities in need. Whether it’s donating
much needed supplies to healthcare providers, or providing our power management expertise across critical industries, Eaton has been on hand to help.

The Aurum Institute – Johannesburg, Gauteng

This proudly African health impact organisation is dedicated to researching, supporting and
implementing innovative, integrated approaches to global health. Over its more than 22 years
in operation, it has become a leading health and research institute that partners with governments, the private sector, and civil society to design and deliver high-quality care and
treatment to people in developing communities. Recently Eaton donated quality backup power equipment including two uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, an ePDU MA 2U power distribution unit,a HotSwap MBP IEC, and Asserta Sounder Beacon and an Ex Zone 1 Sounders to the Institute.

Busamed Gateway Hospital – Umhlanga, KZN

As the first purpose-built surgical and cardiac hospital in KwaZulu-Natal, Busamed Gateway
Hospital is situated in the heart of a growing residential area and was designed to maximise
patient wellbeing and improved surgical outcomes. It boasts 160 beds, two ICU units, a high
care unit, and the highest-standard patient accommodation in a dedicated specialty unit.
In partnership with Simply IT and HKS Vision, Eaton donated four Eaton 9E UPSs that will
ensure the installed COVID-19 thermal screening (and information storing) stations are
powered at all times.The screening measures installed are accumulatively valued at R150
000.
