Childrens cricket programme stimulates active living

The KFC Mini-Cricket campaign aims to shine a light on the hindrances that prevent children from engaging in sports and living active lifestyles. The fast food chain has remained committed to its role in providing children across the country with an opportunity to play the game of cricket and highlighted the obligation  for this year’s National Children’s Day.

Thabisa Mkhwanazi KFC Public Affairs Director said, “ As we celebrate National Children’s Day we want to reinforce the need for children to be loved, nurtured and cared for as well as the importance of creating an environment that encourages individual and communal growth and an active lifestyle. We hope that our communities will pledge their support to keep our children safe and protected in the spaces that allows them to be kids.”

The initiative has managed to offer kids  the critical building blocks to learn cricketing basics and entrenching important life lessons. Furthermore, the  programme allows teachers at schools to offer a cricket sporting programme, even with basic fields and facilities.
