Can South Africa get better?

We must admit and appreciate the fact that gradually South Africa is becoming better and better. In the meantime we should try grab opportunities that are being brought before us.

I am happy with fundamental changes that are being made in our SOEs and as a result we have started to see drastic changes in our economy and high level of trust from investors. As soon as our economy has fully picked up, we need to deal with unemployment which has been a true enemy for quite some time.

This enemy has traumatised, tortured and destroyed many families and therefore, drastic measures but absolutely be put in place to deal with this enemy. Free education has been introduced and it must be fully implemented. It shouldn’t only exist on paper but we need to practicalise it.

Corruption must be dealt with in both public and private sectors. Nepotism and favouritism must be dealt with harshly at workplaces. Entrepreneurship degrees must be fully introduced in all institutions of higher learning in order to equip our students with necessary business skills. It is high time that we start seeing our university and TVET college graduates creating employment instead of seeking employment after they have graduated. The current education system must be truly solidified to keep up with the current economic and social challenges that South Africa is currently facing.

Mathematics Literacy must be scrapped off with immediate effect and pure Mathematics must be brought back. Qualified Mathematics Educators must be appointed not only in private schools but also in public schools. The refresher courses for educators must be introduced whereby all educators get examined on the same subjects that they are teaching at schools to test their fitness and readiness for teaching our kids.

Free wifi needs to be installed in villages as well because that’s where it is needed most. Our learners still travel 45 km just to access search engines such as Google. We can’t act as if all is cool. We need to try transform this country for the better. All Colleges around towns and cities must be all investigated to check their credibility as our learners continue to be robbed on daily basis. A student dedicates the bulk of his/her time to the College that is not accredited. When she completes s/he can’t find a job because the qualification is fake.

This Z83 application method must be reviewed and online application system must be introduced with immediate effect. We all know this manual process can be easily manipulated. We need a system that can be easy to be audited. A secured and transparent system should be seen as the future of this beautiful country. The Z83 application system seems to be working, but only for the few individual and the reason is simple, it is not transparent.

Rent to buy system for townhouses and flats must be introduced in towns and cities. We can’t afford to see tenants renting for over 20 years because they can’t afford to buy houses. Someone starts to work at the age of 22 and retires at the age of 63 without any proper house. The current system seems to be open but you will agree with me that it is definitely open for the few (only those with capital).

We love this country and we believe it can be better than yesterday.
