SA high school learners get access to free online math lessons

The next big milestone for matriculants is the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs), which measure the academic readiness of matric learners for university in three areas: academic literacy, quantitative literacy and mathematics.

According to James Lees, CEO of Advantage Learn, “It’s important for matric students to stay on top of their key subjects in order to prepare for these tests because universities use the results of the NBTs to decide if a learner’s university application is successful or not”.

Online education company Advantage Learn is offering its Maths Online platform for free to help pupils who are affected by the closing of schools. President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa announced that schools would be closed from the 18th of March due to Coronavirus.

The platform features the full NSC / IEB syllabus from Grade 8 to Grade 12, including Advanced Programme Mathematics.”Our Maths Online offering provides maths videos taught by subject-matter experts for Grades 8 to 12 that also enable learners to study the full syllabus on their own” explained Lees.

Parents, teachers and learners can find the full mathematics curriculum by visiting the following link: https://advantagelearn.com/redeem/ and can use the code EducateDontContaminate to log in.
