With rife scarcity of work in south Africa that inhibits much of the population in the country to being active economic participants the Eskom Business Investment competition (BIC) aims to alleviate all the ills that come with being unemployed in SA.
The BIC runs annually from April to August and see’s many people from every spectrum of South Africa’s impoverished communities prosper in business ventures many individuals perceived them to fail.
Chris Bornman who heads up community development and marketing at the Eskom foundation said ‘the BIC is about ordinary people doing extraordinary things and essentially doing the best they can with what they where they are”.
The BIC has holistic approach in developing entrepreneurs from impoverished environments such as the use execution of digital marketing platforms which cost significantly less than traditional advertising platforms and have the most potency in terms of customer reach and engagement and through trade expo’s locally and abroad. The other sphere of the BIC is to mentor and train the budding entrepreneurs in business etiquette and relations.
Social TV will have soon have an exclusive one of the finalist of the competition and converse with Chris Bornman to mull further the dynamics associated with the initiative.
